It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Lindenhurst!
On November 18th, LyLy Rockwell and her friend Barbara Porcello dropped off an incredible donation of toys to Legislator McCaffrey’s office, which will be distributed to children in need by KiDS NEED MoRE.
A huge thank you goes out to LyLy and Barbara for their kindness and donation, as well as the KiDS NEED MoRE elves who helped load and will later distribute the gifts.
Last year Guy Calla, McCaffrey’s chief of staff, reached out to Lindy Cares. Lindy/Babylon Cares serves as a conduit to referrals and professional resources for residents and knew just who to call to ensure that this fantastic donation of toys, books, and personal gifts could get right into the hands of children and young adults in the district.
Pledging to connect our communities, Lindy/Babylon Cares came together with Kids Need More (both 501 (c ) 3 charities) to provide support and services in 2018. Together they hoped to create a more robust response to the potential negative impact the COVID 19 shelter in place policies had on kids and families. Creating an environment where those who serve also benefit, this 2nd Annual tradition continues with an added surprise of a visit from local holiday elves and volunteers who will assist in helping Kids Need More fulfill their mission to reach more than 500 families in 2021!
